MANILA (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will hold a press conference on Tuesday, May 28, at the DPWH-NCR office in Manila to discuss key road and flood control infrastructure concerns.
Dubbed “Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the event will tackle how the agency prioritizes projects, timelines for project completion, and integration of flood control measures with other sectors, among other initiatives and accomplishments.
Joining the press conference are DPWH-NCR Director Engr. Loreta M. Malaluan, Engr. Pelita V. Galvez OIC Director, Public-Private Partnership Service, and Engr. Rodrigo I. Delos Reyes OIC Project Director, Unified Project Management Office-Bridges Management Cluster.
The forum will also address how the department ensures infrastructure projects in the National Capital Region meet the needs of residents while considering environmental health.
This comes after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive for the DPWH to collaborate with other sectors on flood control management and DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan’s commitment to implement this initiative.
The DPWH is the state’s engineering and construction arm that continuously develops its technology to ensure the safety of all infrastructure facilities and secure all public works and highways at the highest efficiency and most appropriate quality in construction.
It aims to provide and manage quality infrastructure facilities and services responsive to the needs of the Filipino people in the pursuit of national development objectives. (PIA-NCR)
