VIRAC, Catanduanes โ The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) station here has recently prohibited small sea vessels from sailing in the northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes.
The PCG Station has issued an advisory suspending the venture of all watercraft with a gross tonnage of 250, fishing boats, and other small watercraft due to the strong gale-force winds in the area which faces the wide Pacific Ocean.
The areas affected by the PCG advisory include the towns of Pandan, Viga, Bagamanoc, Panganiban, Gigmoto, Baras, and Bato where sea conditions are expected to be rough to very rough.
Larger vessels have not been banned from sailing, but the PCG advised them to exercise caution due to the potential for significantly rough waves.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a heavy rainfall warning to Bicol provinces affected by the shear line which is expected to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains that are likewise expected over Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, and Camarines Norte that could also affect adjacent areas.
