PBBM praises entrepreneurs at 2024 Presidential Awards for Outstanding MSMEs

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday praised the remarkable achievements of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) at the 2024 Presidential Awards for Outstanding MSMEs.

The event recognized the demonstration of exceptional growth, competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability of MSMEs.

“We are here today for a very important commemoration as we recognize the recipients of the 2024 Presidential Awards for Outstanding Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and the Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners,” President Marcos said in his speech for the event.

The distinguished finalists for the Presidential Awards for Outstanding MSMEs were Island Group Winners representing diverse regions across the country: HeySuccess Virtual Assistance Services of Northern Luzon; Ai-She Footwear and Tropical Palm Herb Manufacturing of Southern Luzon; Jojie’s Bakeshop and Kawayan Collective Agricultural Cooperative of Visayas; and Nelly Coffee and Tablea and Malagos Agri-Ventures Corporation of Mindanao.

The Chief Executive also led the awarding of the Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners for institutions with remarkable programs and services supporting MSMEs.

“The first batch that we will recognize today will be our outstanding development partners — a diverse group coming from various local government units, national government agencies, the academe, and NGOs,” he said.

Among the recipients were: the City Government of Biñan, recognized for its impactful barangay micro business enterprises (BMBE) incentives that have stimulated business activity; and Capiz State University CAPSULE Technology Business Incubator, lauded for facilitating technology transfer and prototype commercialization support to MSMEs.

The 2024 Presidential Awards for Outstanding MSMEs is a flagship initiative spearheaded by DTI’s MSME Development Group led by Usec. Ma. Cristina A. Roque, through the MSME Development Council Secretariat and Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development. PND
