Registered senior citizens in Navotas City will get P1,000 birthday gift starting this year.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco announced the NavoRegalo increase during the Zumba at Health Caravan para kina Lolo at Lola activity, which is part of the 118th Navotas Day celebration.
“We acknowledge the invaluable contribution of our senior citizens to the progress of our city. We hope to support them in fully enjoying their twilight years even through this small gift,” he said.
Under Navotas City Ordinance No. 2023-44 or the “Amended Birthday Cash Gift to Senior Citizens,” seniors who are registered voters of Navotas and have an ID issued by the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) or the City Persons with Disability Affairs Office are eligible for the program.
Senior citizens, whose voter registration have been deactivated due to health conditions, are also entitled to receive their birthday cash gift if they can present their senior ID and they qualify after a home visit by the City Health Office or the CSWDO.
Aside from NavoRegalo, the city government also grants P10,000 cash gift to Navoteรฑos who reach 100 years old and P1,000 monthly afterwards. Furthermore, registered seniors can watch movies for free at Fisher Mall Malabon every Monday and Tuesday.
