CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — A Solidarity Pact Signing for the 2025 National and Local Election (NLE) and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Election was held at the Police Regional Office 4B (PRO-4B) RHQ Building in Camp Navarro here on Wednesday.
The event was attended by regional election director of Comelec Region 4B Atty. Gloria Ramos-Petallo, who was guest of honor and speaker.
In her message, Petallo urged stakeholders to protect the integrity of the electoral process and ensure free, fair, and credible elections.

“I urge everyone to work together to ensure that our elections are free, fair, and credible. Let us put the interests of our country and our people above our own interests. Let us show the world that we are a nation that values democracy, transparency, and accountability,” she said.
On the part of the BJMP, regional director Jail Senior Superintendent Clarence Mayangao, assured that security efforts and preparations in jails are in full swing, as he emphasized the importance of collaboration among agencies and stakeholders in ensuring a smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming elections.
Mayangao stated that their presence and participation in the pact signing showcases the commitment of the BJMP and other law enorcement agencies in attaining one solidarity purpose—to uphold and protect the integrity of the upcoming national and local elections.
Various government instrumentalities such as the Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Land Transportation Office, Department of Education, Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Armed Forces of the Philippines also participated in the event.
Other representatives form accredited nongovernment organizations and faith-based leaders joined the peace covenant and signing of the manifesto—all of whom pledged their strong support for a peaceful and fair electoral process.
Meanwhile, BJMP Mimaropa Operations and Information Officer Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo, reported that the total number of registered voters among persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) detained in its facilities is 1,758.
Of this number, 1,394 PDLs will vote on-site at special polling precincts located inside jail facilities, and 364 PDLs will vote off-site at polling precincts outside BJMP facilities. (PR)
