MAYOR JURIS B. SUCRO RECEIVES PPA RECOGNITION FOR UNWAVERING SUPPORT TO COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS

ILOILO CITY | July 23, 2026 — The Parole and Probation Administration (PPA) under the Department of Justice (DOJ) has awarded Kalibo Mayor Juris B. Sucro with a Plaque of Recognition, in celebration of the agency’s 50th Golden Anniversary this year.

The recognition was conferred today, July 23, during ceremonies held at the Grand Xing Hotel, Iloilo City, in acknowledgment of Mayor Sucro’s invaluable support and unwavering commitment to PPA’s programs and initiatives.

The citation states that Mayor Sucro’s dedicated partnership and meaningful contributions have greatly advanced the agency’s goals, strengthened the delivery of community-based corrections services, and made a lasting impact on the lives of persons under community supervision and the communities they belong to.

For five decades, the PPA has carried out its mandate of rehabilitating offenders through community-based corrections, working closely with local government units and justice stakeholders to support the reintegration, livelihood, and holistic recovery of parolees and probationers.
