BATANGAS CITY, Batangas — The regional director of the Jail Bureau, Jail Senior Superintendent Clarence Mayangao conducted Tuesday afternoon a surprise inspection at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Brooke’s Point District Jail in Palawan.
The inspections are part of Mayangao’s visit to know the situations of jail facilities in his area of jurisdiction, said jail warden Jail Senior Inspector Bryan Ian Paul Rañada.
In his message during the ‘Talk to Troops,” Mayangao advised the BJMP personnel assigned in the district jails to be always on alert during their duty to avoid untoward incidence and give the utmost service to the persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).
He also inspected the quality of service on food of the PDLs, and directed the custodial officers to increase the frequency of random search operations in jail cells to strengthen the security in the facility.
“I would like to complement the security efforts of Brooke’s Point District Jail by ensuring that our facility is free from any types of contraband particularly illegal drugs,” Mayangao said.
Regional information officer Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo reported that the BJMP-BPDJ currently houses 298 PDLs, while 288 are males and 10 are females. (Photos courtesy of JO3 Joefrie Anglo, IO-BJMP MIMAROPA)
