US Library of Congress-inspired municipal hall inaugurated in Pampanga

PORAC, Pampanga โ€“ This Pampanga town recently its newly constructed municipal hall, the design of which is inspired by the US Library of Congress in Washington, DC.

The PHP370-million structure, proudly stands on a three-hectare lot in Barangay Cangatba donated by the family of the late Genaro Dimalanta, who served as Porac vice mayor from 1960 to 1963.

Senator Lito Lapid, who hails from Porac, led the inauguration of the municipal building.

โ€œThe local government of Porac is thankful to Senator Lito Lapid for his efforts to fund the construction of our new municipal hall),โ€ Porac Mayor Myla Clarete said during the inaugural rites.

Clarete said the construction of the building started in 2021 and was funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). She said the transfer of the seat of the municipality from Barangay Poblacion to the present site at Circumferential Road in Barangay Cangatba was facilitated by Porac Municipal Ordinance No. 01, Series of 2025.

Also located in the new municipal complex is the new Porac Police Station, which was also recently inaugurated. Other local government offices are expected to be erected in the three-hectare property soon. (With PNA)
